Most nouns are single or composite Kanji 漢字 Some nouns are written in Hiragana, when the context is clear and unambiguous. Foreign words from the West are "shreddered" in Katakana: ディモクラシ DE-i-MO-KU-RA-SHI = DEMOCRACY or better 民 主 主 義 MIN-SHU SHU-GI = Democracy (literally "Folks Rule"). |
